Please read and agree to the terms and conditions below.
Service Quality
Special Needs Tutoring is committed to provide quality services, to suggest the best therapist, tutor and coach to provide support to make sure both clients and therapists, tutors and coaches have the best experience they expected. However, Special Needs Tutoring does not guarantee the improvement of student’s grades. We believe that to achieve improvement, several factors are required, such as suitability and commitment of therapist, tutor or coach, cooperation from students/parents, student’s diligence and hard work, among others.
Therapist or Tutor Verification
By signing up as Special Needs Tutoring’s therapists and tutors are required to bring their relevant certificates and NRIC on the first class regardless of whether the clients have made the request. Clients have the rights to view such documents prior to the first class.
Commission
The services are free of charge for the clients. We get our commission from the therapist, tutor or coach in the two-week cycle therapy/tuition/coaching fee or 50% of the first month fee. However, the client is required to pay us for this on behalf of the therapist, tutor or coach.
Classes requirement
Upon the confirmation of the assignment and the therapist, tutor or coach, the clients are required to complete a minimum of one class on the fixed date and time agreed. If the client decides to terminate the session before the first class, the client is required to pay for the first class as administrative charge. If two or more classes have been conducted before the client decides to terminate henceforth, the client would only need to pay for the number of classes taught.
Payment
Commission for the first half of therapy, tuition or coaching sessions
We require clients to transfer the first lesson fee in advance to Special Needs Tutoring.
After the first lesson, clients are to transfer half of the agreed number of sessions within the first month to us after its completion, including any change, cancellation or postponement in the therapy, tuition or coaching date. For example,
Scenario 1: It is agreed that the therapy, tuition or coaching session should be held once a week, 1 hour each time. After deducting first lesson’s fee, commission will be collected on the second lesson for 1 hour by Special Needs Tutoring.
Scenario 2: It is agreed that the therapy, tuition or coaching session should be held 3 times a week, 1 hour each time. After deducting first lesson, commission will be collected on the 6th lesson, 2nd week for 5 hours by Special Needs Tutoring.
If there is a postponement of any session within the first month, for example, the therapy, tuition or coaching is agreed to be held on 7th January (first week) and 14th January (second week) but the client postpones the therapy, tuition or coaching from 14th January to 21st January, we will collect the two weeks’ worth of therapy, tuition or coaching fee on 21st January.
Our client support will send the client an invoice after the completion of the first half cycle of therapy, tuition or coaching. Payment shall be made either via internet banking or PayNow. Payment receipt shall be kept as proof.
Under no circumstances should the client engage directly with the therapist, tutor or coach concerning the payment of the initial 50% of the total fees.
Post commission, the client can pay to the therapist, tutor or coach directly, either after each class, weekly or monthly, depending on the agreement between the client and the therapist, tutor or coach.
The commission we receive covers the time spent interviewing each therapist, tutor, and coach who joins our network. This includes the thorough vetting process and the considerable effort required to match the most suitable professional for your child’s unique needs. Additionally, the commission supports the creation of tailored worksheets designed specifically for neurodiverse children, as well as the development of informative articles that provide valuable resources for parents who may have limited access to such information. In return, we sincerely appreciate and value your continued support, trust in our work, and commitment to us.
Changes of schedule, postponement or cancellation of class
Client must take the effort to notify Special Needs Tutoring in any changes, postponement or cancellation of classes in the first half cycle of agreed number of sessions. Special Needs Tutoring will adjust the payment collection time and details.
If there is any postponement for the first lesson, the client is required to inform Special Needs Tutoring at least three hours before the start of class. If the client informs us less than three hours before the start of class, Special Needs Tutoring has the right to claim for the therapist, tutor or coach’s wasted time and transport cost, which will be no more than one class worth of therapy, tuition or coaching fee.
If there is any postponement after the first lesson, the client is required to inform the therapist, tutor or coach at least three hours before the start of class. If the client has informed the therapist, tutor or coach less than three hours before the start of class, the therapist, tutor or coach has the right to claim for the wasted time and transport cost, which will be no more than one class worth of therapy, tuition or coaching fee.
Amount of commission remains the same even if there is a cancellation and postponement.
Changes to classes duration
If there are changes in duration or frequency of classes within 2 months, Special Needs Tutoring will determine the commission based on the long-term duration or frequency of classes.
For example:
Scenario 1: Client agrees to have 1 class per week for the first 4 weeks and 2 classes per week from the 5th week onwards. Our commission is charged based on the long-term assignment. We will collect the first 4 classes’ therapy, tuition or coaching fee as commission.
Scenario 2: Client agrees to have 4 hours per week and requests to have only 2 hours for the first week. Our commission is charged based on the long-term assignment. We will collect 8 hours’ worth of therapy, tuition or coaching fee as commission.
Replacement or Termination of Tutor
Except the first mandatory class upon confirmation, the client can change or terminate the therapist, tutor or coach after the first class. Client shall notify us about the change or termination of the therapist, tutor or coach.
If the classes were held for less than the agreed number of sessions within the first month, payment of all the classes conducted shall be paid to us and we will be responsible for paying the therapist, tutor or coach accordingly. Under no circumstances should the client engage directly with the therapist, tutor or coach concerning the payment for the first half of the agreed number of sessions.
For classes conducted after the commission to Special Needs Tutoring, payment for all subsequent sessions shall be made directly to the therapist, tutor, or coach.
Client can request a replacement of therapist, tutor or coach after the termination.
Delay in Payment
The client is required to make the payment within 7 days upon receiving our invoice. We understand that delay in payment is inevitable in some cases due to personal reasons, thus we will try our best to remind the client and follow-up on the payment. Giving additional time is solely on a goodwill basis.
However, actions might be taken if we failed to receive the payment on time:
a) Lawsuit & Tribunal of Small Claims.
b) Filing of Police Report.
